Who we are
Spreading the Gospel (STG) is a Christian ministry working in Gospel outreach, discipleship, global missions, pastoral support, and humanitarian aid. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Spreading the Gospel.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can contact us at [email protected].
The information we collect
We collect the personal information you give us directly when you complete one of our forms. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, postal address, the type of partnership you are interested in, your giving frequency and amount, any project you wish to support, and how you would prefer to hear from us.
We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not use the website to build profiles of visitors.
How we use your information
We use the personal information you provide to process your partnership application, administer your giving or volunteering, respond to enquiries you send us, and contact you regarding your involvement with the ministry.
Where you have asked to receive ministry updates, we use your contact details to send you news about our work, events, appeals, and opportunities to support the ministry.
Our lawful basis for processing
Where you apply to partner with us or contact us with an enquiry, we process your information because it is necessary to take steps at your request and to pursue our legitimate interests in administering the ministry's work.
Where you have ticked the box asking to receive ministry updates, we process your information on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and doing so will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out beforehand.
Sharing your information
We will keep your information secure and will not sell it or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share your information where it is required by law, or where it is necessary for a service provider acting on our behalf — such as our email or hosting provider — to deliver a service to us. Where that happens, they act only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law. Where you withdraw consent to receive updates, we will stop sending them and retain only what is needed to honour that request.
Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to erase it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it to another organisation.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Where we make a significant change, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.
